Step by Step

Today I was actually going to take a trip back in time and talk about when I got sick and diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis, but due to some great news I’m flipping the script! We can wait for me to do #flashbackfriday next week!

Have you ever received some great news that makes you cry and smile all at once? It’s like when YOU buy your first expensive bag while you’re walking around in the streets of Paris. Oh wait... that’s my definition but you get the point. Well today, my doctor texted me (yes, I said texted me, I’m kind of a big deal) and told me they were able to get my MELD score to 30! Now I’m sure you’re wondering why that is great news and not horrific news. For a girl who wants this little monster of a liver out of her hearing that my score has gone up is just another step closer to me saying BYE YOU PIECE OF CRAP LIVER! Hell, it never liked me and I’m frankly tired of losing sleep over you. I will be happy when we are no longer connected to each other. Basically, It’s been time for you to bounce but you just keep holding on, like an ex-boyfriend that just cant get the point that we are done!  Every little step I take (yes that's some old Bobby B. for ya) we are parting ways.

On a serious note, my dad constantly reminds me that I’m walking on a journey and it’s a process. All I have to do is focus on my inner self (peace, mind and spirit).  As my team of doctors do what they do, that’s one step and I have to follow them with the next step. So come on and walk this walk with me because I’m making it to the finish line!
